How does our points system work?...

Ours tips work on a points-basis. A tip of 1 point could mean a stake of £1, £10, £100, or any other amount the bettor chooses. Other tips then work in proportion to that stake. As an example, if 1 point is taken to be £100 then a 0.5 point tip would mean a stake of £50, a 2 point tip a stake of £200 and so on. If 1 point is taken to mean £1, then a 0.5 point tip would mean a stake of £0.5 and a 2 point tip a stake of £2.

The points-based system has three advantages.

Firstly different people bet different amounts of money; often in accordance with their affordability and risk appetite - we're here to produce tips and analysis on football matches, not encourage people to bet or tell them how much.

Secondly, it enables us to distinguish our stakes based on how certain we consider the outcome and how much value we consider there to be in the odds.

Thirdly, it enables us to track the profit or loss on our tips over time and provide a record of the results.

We use fractional odds on this site but converting to decimal odds is straight forward if that's the format you prefer.
